Frequently Asked Questions
Who are these courses aimed at?

Our courses are aimed at all those who work or live with children and families, particularly in the Highlands, Moray and wider Scotland. Each course has different content so will interest some groups more than others; for example some are designed to be informative for parents and practitioners whereas others might be more suited to job-related roles.

Who are Care and Learning Alliance?

Care and Learning Alliance offer a one-door approach to a broad range of Childhood Practice and Family Support services. We are the largest childcare and family membership organisation offering universal services in the Highland and Moray areas. We also have members in other parts of Scotland. We see E-Learning as playing a large part in the future of training childcare practitioners and parents. The large and remote nature of the Scottish Highlands makes E-Learning a good fit for delivering high quality training to as many people as possible.

How long do the courses last?

The length of each course varies, but in our experience they take roughly 1 hour – 1.5 hours to complete. You do not have to complete the whole course in one session. Your progress is saved, so you can finish the course at a later date if you like.

Will you be adding more courses?

Care and Learning Alliance are continually considering the needs of our membership and the wider sector and seeking to produce materials which will be relevant and current. So the simple answer is ‘yes’ keep checking back to see what we’ve been adding over the year. We also include info on courses on the CALA Blog – which is free to sign up for.

Do I need any special equipment?

No! Our courses should work just fine on most desktop/laptop computers, or mobile devices.

Do I need to be good with computers?

No! We’ve worked hard to make our courses as easy to use as possible. Progressing through the course should be self explanatory, and you’ll prompted at each step of the way. If you need any assistance, just get in touch and we’ll point you in the right direction! Or simply phone us on: 01463 703033
